A few months ago the boys went on a hike with the Young Men's and Scouts onto the Hunter Creek trail. They had complained about it being a "hard hike" but I saw all of the pictures and the beautiful water fall and I HAD to go! (Never thinking it was THAT hard.... I assumed they were just complaining.)
So yesterday morning since Michael was headed to EFY the next day and Jared was headed to Scout Camp on Monday, I decided it was a perfect day to go. Not thinking it was a really big hike I figured we'd take both dogs.... Michael THANK GOODNESS informed me Ruby wouldn't make it so we left her home.
We visited the residents at Atria first and then headed out.
We got to the trail head and headed up.
Michael was ahead of us.
The Truckee River
We were about a mile in right here and I had no idea it was going to be as tough as it was.
About 2 miles in... We are hot and tired...... And without snacks!!!! Again, I had NO IDEA it was going to be as tough as it was!
Almost 3 1/2 miles in/up, we reached the waterfall and the little pool! AHHHHHHHH Refreshing! Of course we soaked ourselves.
I have NO idea WHAT this bug is! EWE!
One of the fellow hikers (who caught up with us) took our picture.
Heading back down the trail..... He HATES getting wet!
The sun is setting... BEAUTIFUL!
Waiting....
Not sure WHAT or WHO lives in there.....
