For the past several years the Billinghurst concert and jazz choirs head off to three close by retirement homes to sing. They are amazing and everyone loves them! Michael went with them the first year (when he was in 7th grade) and now that Jared is in 7th grade, it was his turn!
We crammed into the activity room of the Emeritus. We will probably do it up the staircase again next year. This was just an experiment.
Off to Atria... Where my heart is. We sang in the dining room while the residents ate. This was the first time doing it this way, and we will probably keep it this way.
Then off to Sky Peaks. We did it in the dining room and up the staircase, instead of just singing on the staircase. It worked out great.
Then off to pizza!
This is what happened when we got back to the school and waited for parents.
As far as trying to get 80 kids to do something.... they were VERY good and well-behaved!
