Michael's Honor Choir Concert

So this was Michael's 3rd year for the Washoe County School District Honor Choir, but 1st in High School. The try-outs were brutal but his choir teacher assured us they were going to be ready. For High School HC they expect a LOT more from the kids and the try-outs were MUCH different than the previous years. This year they were given a piece of music and were expected to sing a capella unseen and unrehearsed. They also had to sing in a duet, quartet and clap a piece. But, he got in and after many MANY rehearsal hours, the day of the big performance came.

Two years ago it was at the "Pioneer Center", and they sold out. Last year they decided to move it to "The Nugget", which was able to hold more people.  Isn't he handsome in his Tux?

Richard, his mom, sister, his wife and my mom and niece Sarah were all able to come. I was not able to get pictures of everybody, but I did get a few. (That is their daughter at the end)

Michael and Trenton

They had 3 different choirs. 6th grade (Jared didn't try out, maybe he will next year), Junior High, and High School. I HATE that they are so blurry, but unfortunately this is what I got. The music was AMAZING especially from the High School. (Of course they had more years to develop) A couple of their pieces were so relaxing to listen to, I felt like I could just fall asleep.

Trenton and Christian

This is his current choir teacher, Mrs. Burt. She is AMAZING! Michael is really learning a lot from her.

I am so thankful I live in an area where the arts can still be such a major part of their schooling. Hopefully next year I will have two WCSD HC students. Until then, there are many MANY more concerts to attend this year with all three kids in Choir.

Storing Up For the Winter

I know I've posted about him before, but just a refresher, my mom and Jared found a baby squirrel, Chancey several months ago. Due to the temperature change, he has decided to store for the winter. (Even if it IS cheetos) She kept him in his cage, because she didn't want him hiding them up under her bed mattress. :-/ The next series of pictures are captioned from texts my mom sent to me as she posted each picture.

"I'm staying in the corner because you keep looking at me."

"I love these rice puffs"

"Doesn't want to be watched eating."

"I have to take this peanut out, so I can stuff it in better"

"Just a few more nibbles."

"I need to lick my fingers clean."

"It's just sooooooo good!"

More of our cute furry babies

One more animal post. Gosh we sure do love our pets!

Duncan waiting by the door for Michael to come home from scouts.

My little side-kick

Another one of my side-kicks. Rubbing her little head all over my feet.

I have completely lost control or possession of my bed. At least they're cute!

Our little hedgies get a bath once a week. (Just warm water) Aren't they cute?

They don't like Duncan very much.

Ruby is hard at work. LOL

Uh yep! That would be MY bed.

A friend of mine gave Michael a new Papasan Chair...... Maybe Annie got a new Papasan bed?

Happy Halloween!

While Halloween is not my favorite holiday, (I hate all of the gore) we managed to stay extremely busy and have a lot of fun!

A few days before, Michael carved his pumpkin. :-P

The day before Halloween we had two parties to go to. My work party where the UNR Wolf Pack cheerleaders danced and  helped carve pumpkins, and then our ward party. (Michael wasn't able to attend my work party, he had WCSD Honor Choir practice.)

Off to our Ward party. First we had delicious Chili and homemade bread, then Tunk-or-treat.

Some of the silly teens

Our Bishop and some of his cute family

More silly kids

Goofy boys

Of course they had to compare candy stashes with each other.

On Halloween night I got ONE PICTURE! Crazy huh? VERY uncharacteristic of me. But Cai Lynn and Jared were able to trick-or-treat our neighborhood by themselves for the first time. Michael went with friends to a party and goodies afterward.

They were so excited. This is their first "check-in". (They had to check in after each of the 3 streets in our neighborhood.) This is their loot from ONE small street!

Happy Halloween! Love, The Myers
