UNR Choir Competition

Each year the choirs have an opportunity to go to UNR and compete with other schools. There are several different divisions (Elementary, Middle School and High School) and they are judged accordingly. Jared's school this time though was put into the High School category and had to compete against Michael's school.

I wasn't able to go see Jared compete and unfortunately I missed Michael's first group but I got to see Michael's second group compete. Jared's group was there all day and was able to be in the audience.

Most parents aren't able to come but I drive by the university on my home from work so I stopped by.

I got to watch two High School teams perform before Michael's.

Cute Jared came and sat back by me. :-)

Each team is judged and scored on each song.

This is the smaller group. This is Core Jazz and Big Jazz. (Michael is in Big Jazz)
The mass choirs went earlier in the day.

I'm excited to see the scores. It's always a lot of fun! Great job kids!

Closing Night and Cast Party

After an exhausting two weeks, Madrigals came to an end. I had helped in the kitchen (NEVER want to see another potato again!) I had also signed up to help with the cast party. (Months ago mind you, when it didn't seem like such a big deal.)

I got there early so I could set up and then catch some of the performance. Of course it was closing night so a LOT of ad-libbing took place! It was FANTASTIC! The kids were great!

A couple of friends.

After the sets were struck, some fun pictures were taken.

Now off to the cast party...

Lots of food and fun! A former student made a fantastic video!

The kids had SO MUCH sparkling cider! I can't believe they didn't all get sick!

So much fun!

It's a Hoe Down!

A couple of weeks ago Cai Lynn had a spelling rodeo fundraiser at her school. They decided to celebrate it with a hoe down.

My mom picked up my niece Sarah and they had a lot of fun.

The line dancing begins...

They even had a little photo booth

 So much fun!
