Random Thoughts

Once again I am doing a "365" picture a day on Facebook. It was fun last time to look at the year and remember the fun things we did. Some days are a little more difficult than others to be creative, but it's fun nonetheless.

So here are the pictures from past couple of weeks....

Duncan is so funny with the hedgehogs. (Even the babies) He tries to herd them and keep them corralled. He is still trying to figure out what they are.

Annie is NOT impressed with the prickly creatures or the fact that Duncan is interfering with her investigation

This is from a different day. I love my tired furry babies.

I gave the boys a haircut... they needed it. :-)

While preparing for scripture time Duncan wanted "just a taste" of Michael's taco. (I think this was Michael's third dinner by this time... growing boy.)

"Hello!"

This is something new we have started this year. (I found it on Pinterest) Each day we EACH write down a memorable moment, good thought, something we are thankful for, etc. We will read them New Year's Eve.

We were surprised by a knock at the door. A friend of mine's son work at "Nothing Bundt Cakes" and brought us a wonderful surprise!

My Uncle Mark sent us an amazing video...

Jared is in the same sweatshirt, but it IS a different day. :-) This is Friday Movie night.... Duncan likes to cuddle.

Hellooooooo 2013!

A lot has happened this year, good, not so good and we are VERY ready to meet 2013 and all of the wonderful new beginnings it will have to offer.

Michael had his first New Years Eve church dance and I dropped him off at around 9:30. I headed back home where we tried very hard to stay awake. We were armed with snacks, sparkling cider, board games and movies. (As I sit now typing this I am trying to stay awake while I wait for Michael to get home.)

Here is a small glimpse of our night....

Michael, as we headed out the door.

A few of our New Year's munchies

Pausing to take a picture as we played Board Games around the coffee table

As it approached midnight, we gathered the poppers, jackets, slippers and went out the door to make some noise and hopefully not annoy our neighbors too much.

 A bit of our mess

Cheese!

We made it until midnight!!!!!

Cheers!

Here's to a happy, healthy and amazing 2013!!!!!

Merry Christmas!!!!!

We had a very filled yet relaxing Christmas this year.

Christmas Morning came and began with opening up the stockings. (While watching "A Christmas Story")

Off to open up our presents from each other....

Michael is shocked to see his and says "Wait!!! WHAT?!"

Jared also has his shocked face on.... (I am SOOOOO glad I found this at such a good bargain! --MONTHS ago!)

I made them Photo Mugs

I got these from "The Kennedy Space Center"

When Cai Lynn grows up she wants to be a Marine Biologist. This is yet another Deep Sea book.

Duncan needs another cuddle

An EBAY find. :-)

At the end of present opening....

Ruby is NOT a "morning person", so she made her entrance fairly late. She opened HER stocking well after the presents had been opened.

Later in the morning, Jessica and the girls popped over and we opened presents from each other.

I made her a photo ornament and a photo mug

Cute Cousins

The past few years (after Bryan's passing) we've done thing a bit differently, and are still trying to find our niche'. This year we had lunch (just us four and my mom... Jessica had made other plans) at the Atlantis.

EWE!

After that we headed to the movies, just the kids and I. My mom went home to take a nap and finish up dinner. In the late evening we headed across the street to my Mom's for a nice meal and presents to each other.

I love her tree!

Cai Lynn sporting her new "Brave" wig

Things have been a lot different the past few years and this year they were even more different. Good, but different. When loved ones pass and leave us, we have to find new traditions to add to our old ones.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!
