A New Opportunity

A few months ago I was presented with a new opportunity. In my opinion, the opportunity of a lifetime! Ever since I was a teenager I have been volunteering in retirement homes, nursing homes, hospitals, etc. A few years ago, I began working full-time in an Assisted Living Community (One of the places I had been volunteering at)after working in a Preschool until Cai Lynn headed off to second grade.

The former administrator at that building after taking some time off, was hired at a brand new community specifically geared toward Alzheimer's/Dementia. I am now the new Program Director. It has been so much fun watching the building go up. (It's just down the street from my house.)

The big day had finally come, and a few weeks ago we had our install. The company has done this so many times, they has each truck loaded with very specific things, times each truck was to arrive was like clockwork.

LOL my office in the making...

We were all very much involved with the unloading and organizing.

Over the next few days we did all of the finishing touches.

A wonderful friend of mine is an amazing photographer. She came in and took a few pictures of our entire team.

It's looking so beautiful! We have been inspected by the State Fire Department, but now we are waiting for our last survey! It is SOOO hard to wait!

The biography boards will be outside each resident's room. I had to a few fake ones for our model rooms. LOL (Duncan Hines, Judy Garland, Issac Singer, James Casey, Betsy Ross, and Sarah Winnemucca.)

I have a beautiful view of the courtyard from my office window. (It was POURING that day!)

The front of our building

Duncan is ready to work.

There will be lots of pictures to come... This was just an update over the last couple of months.
